Level
All Levels - Class is suitable for both beginners and improvers, all levels are welcome.
Improvers Only - Class is suitable for improvers only. Students need to have been doing yoga around a year or more. A knowledge of basic asana and pranayama is needed, along with looking for a slightly stronger and deeper practice.
Class Style
Astanga Yoga - Dynamic form of Yoga, following a particular set of postures in coordination with the breath. Astanga yoga is considered to be one of the more physically demanding forms of Yoga. (This class is taught by Evi who is fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher and has been practicing this style of Yoga for many years.)
Viniyoga - Viniyoga means the 'application of yoga'. My teaching focuses on the co-ordination of breath with movement which helps connect mind and body, helping to calm the mind of other thoughts. The postures I teach are aimed to help create strength, flexibility and balance. I strongly encourage students to work within their own limits because this is how benefits are achieved and I will modify or suggest alternatives when needed. The classes will include the following -
Asana - Postures
Pranayama - Breath techniques.
Relaxation - Short lying guided relaxation at the end of class.
Yoga Theory - Short snippets of theory that gives us a greater understanding of yoga history, why we do what we do and how it all works.
